When they become so derivative as to become<br \/>\nunintelligible,<br \/>\nthe same thing may be said for all of us, that we<br \/>\ndo not admire what<br \/>\nwe cannot understand: the bat<br \/>\nholding on upside down or in quest of something to<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span lang=\"FR\">eat, elephants pushing, a wild horse taking a roll, a tireless<br \/>\nwolf under<br \/>\na tree, the immovable critic twitching his skin like a horse<br \/>\nthat feels a flea, the base-<br \/>\nball fan, the statistician \u2013<br \/>\nnor is it valid<br \/>\nto discriminate against \u201cbusiness documents and<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span lang=\"FR\">school-books\u201d; all these phenomena are important. One must make<br \/>\na distinction<br \/>\nhowever: when dragged into prominence by half poets, the<br \/>\nresult is not poetry,<br \/>\nnor till the poets among us can be<br \/>\n\u201cliteralists of<br \/>\nthe imagination\u201d \u2014 above<br \/>\ninsolence and triviality and can present<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span lang=\"FR\">for inspection, \u201cimaginary gardens with real toads in them,\u201d<br \/>\nshall we have<br \/>\nit.
